As scientists, we're sometimes viewed as another species. I'm on a bit of a mission to break down that stereotype by showing that I'm a human being.

Public engagement is aimed at everybody. I think everybody should have the chance to experience these things and decide for themselves.

Public engagement describes the many ways in which University of Bristol staff and students interact with the public. It is part of our University's vision, recognised as a valued and valuable part of academic life. Many of our researchers give public talks, work with the media, advise policy makers, display their work at festivals and collaborate with a wide variety of people through their research and teaching. Our students do an incredible amount of voluntary work, contributing over 100,000 hours of voluntary work annually.
