The ability to accurately perceive emotion in other people is important in social interactions. People differ in their ability to do this, and this may be linked to various mental health problems. Are people suffering from depression less sensitive to happy facial expressions? In this talk, Professor Marcus Munafò of the School of Experimental Psychology will discuss his latest research on people’s ability to understand emotion, and the link with mental health.
