TARG members attended the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco (SRNT) conference in San Francisco

On 20th February 2019, TARG members Robyn Wootton, Rebecca Richmond, Olivia Maynard, Jasmine Khouja and Marcus Munafò, attended the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco (SRNT) conference in San Francisco. Robyn was presented with an SRNT New Investigator Award for her Mendelian randomisation analysis showing that smoking can increase risk of depression and schizophrenia. Rebecca was awarded with an SRNT travel award to present her work on e-cigarette use and epigenetic changes which has identified DNA methylation profiles which are specific to e-cigarette use and distinct from cigarette smoking. After the conference, the group rewarded themselves with "Super Burritos" from La Taqueria in the Mission district.
