IEU Engagement Awards recognise TARG researchers

22 July 2019

MRC IEU presented the IEU engagement awards to recognise three TARG members who have been involved with public engagement activities over the last year.

Last week, the MRC IEU presented the IEU engagement awards to recognise those who have been involved with public engagement activities over the last year. Three TARG members were nominated. Steph Suddell was nominated for the Inspiring Leadership award as she organised the IEU stand at Greenman Festival 2018. The stand was part of Einstein's garden (a section of the festival full of science based stalls). The stand was called The Choice Challenge which gave visitors the opportunity to uncover the many factors that influence our behaviour across our lifetime, and how we're trying to take back control.

Robyn Wootton and Jasmine Khouja were nominated for the Decicated Engager award. Jasmine was the winner of the award for her long term commitment to engagement events including giving a talk at a collaboration event between Creative Reactions and Pint of Science earlier this year and being highly involved in the publicity and marketing of the event. She has also written a blog and an online article about e-cigarettes which have generated lots of engagement online.
