Schools Brain Art Exhibition

15 March 2018

Primary and Secondary schools from across Bristol and the surrounding region took part in this competition, submitting works in both two and three dimensions, in a range of media and styles, from structural representations to more unusual interpretations, including several pieces that explore mental health issues and brain disease.

From Brislington to Blagdon, primary and secondary schools from across Bristol and Somerset took part in the competition.

The competition judges were sculptor Dallas Collins RWA, mixed-media artist Dr Sue Pickering (a previous member of the School) and RWA’s Learning and Participation Manager, Joel Edwards. All were really impressed by the diversity of imaginative responses and the children’s ability to combine creativity with scientific curiosity.

The judges were so impressed with the work that they decided all entries should be on display in the RWA gallery. The exhibition of Brain Art takes place from 6th - 25th March 2018.

The winning and commended Brain Art entries will be on display at the Bristol Neuroscience Festival from the 22nd – 24th March 2018.

Well done to Will Chapman who ran this event on behalf of the School of Experimental Psychology.
