19 PhD students presented at the Postgraduate Conference today and it was great to see that our students continue to conduct interesting and high-calibre research. The PG Conference is an important event for the School so every effort was put in to keep the quality of the presentations high.

The judges for 'The Troscianko Prize for Outstanding Excellence in Presenting Research' selected two winners:

Olivia Maynard (Examining the effectiveness of standardised cigarette packaging as a tobacco control strategy) - supervisor Marcus Munafo

and

Jim Barnett (Distance dependent camouflage and aposematism) - supervisors Nick Scott Samuel & Innes Cuthill.

Olivia and Jim will each be awarded a prize of £100, which will be presented (along with a certificate) at the postgraduate induction at the start of the new academic year. Congratulations to both!
