Personality and perception

The study will require you to:

  • create two patterns using coloured wooden blocks
  • once you have completed this task you will be asked to answer questions relating to hunger and general diet information
  • you will then be given some cookie pieces to eat and be asked to answer questions relating to hunger and questions from the Reinforcement Sensitivity Theory Personality Questionnaire (RST-PQ)
  • you will then be given some crisps to taste and you will be asked questions relating to the taste of the crisps
  • having finished the tasting section, you will be asked questions relating to hunger and general diet information

The lab session will take 30 minutes and takes place in the nutrition and behaviour unit.

In exchange for your participation you will receive:

  • £5

To take part in this study you must:

  • Be aged between 18 and 65
  • Be female
  • Be fluent in English
  • Have normal, or corrected-to-normal vision and hearing
  • Be willing to eat cookie and crisps
  • Not have any food allergies or intolerances
  • Not be following a vegan diet
  • Not have ever been diagnosed with an eating disorder
  • Not have a BMI of 30 or over
  • Not be taking any medication that may influence appetite (oral contraceptives are OK)
