My research is concerned with the aetiology of schizophrenia and depression and the treatment of depression and other common mental disorders in primary care. I carry out research in the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC) and with David Gunnell and Stan Zammit collaborate with Peter Allebeck, Christina Dalman and colleagues in Sweden on record linkage studies. I work closely with colleagues in Primary Care in order to carry out randomised controlled trials and have an interest in how research findings are applied to clinical practice.
