What is a domestic abuse perpetrator programme?

A domestic abuse perpetrator programme is a 23-week group programme for men who are concerned about the behaviour in their intimate relationships with women. Partners and ex-partners of these men are offered specialist support, and ongoing multi-agency case and risk management sits around the family. Who is eligible to take part in Reprovide?

Men who are interested in taking part must fulfil the following criteria:

-          Be concerned about their behaviour towards a current or ex female partner

-          Be over 21 years of age

-          Reside within Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Somerset, Wiltshire, or Gwent.

-          Have been in contact with a current or ex-partner within the last 12 months

-          Agree to passing on contact details for their current or ex-partners.

-          No ongoing family court case without social care involvement

-          Must not be court mandated to attend a domestic abuse programme

Making a referral

Any professional can refer someone into Reprovide providing they have that person’s consent. Men can also self-refer.

Simply send the man’s full name, telephone number and a short background confirming your knowledge of any DVA incident to reprovide-men@bristol.ac.uk.
