Samir graduated from Liverpool Medical School with honours in 2006.
He has just been appointed as an Academic Clinical Lecturer in HPB and General Surgery at the University of Bristol. He has previously trained in Liverpool, Leeds and Bristol. In addition to his MD, Samir also holds a BSc and MSc degrees.
Samir's main areas of interest, where he has published several significant papers, are that of advanced liver tumours. The main focus of his current research will be around how surgical innovation occurs in Liver and Pancreatic Surgery
Other than medicine, Samir is also an accomplished cricketer having represented England Universities in 2004 and captained Liverpool University between 2003-2005. He still occasionally turns out for the MCC and has also started a charity to support cricketers from poor backgrounds.
