As part of a joint endeavour between the Elizabeth Blackwell Institute and the ConDuCT-II Hub, the Clinical Primer Scheme was launched in November 2014, with interviews taking place on 12th February 2015. Supported by the University of Bristol and the Wellcome Trust, the scheme provides an opportunity for early-career, clinically qualified trainees to undertake a period of research with a view to developing a career as a clinical academic, with funding to cover clinical salaries and associated project costs for up to 6 months. Initially three candidates were appointed, but two have decided to pursue other options. Charlotte Murkin has accepted the offer of a place and we look forward to welcoming her to the school in October this year.
