Law School lecturer appointed to Care Quality Commission's Mental Health Act Advisory Group

A Senior Lecturer in the Law School has been appointed to the Care Quality Commission (CQC)’s Mental Health Act Advisory Group.
Dr Judy Laing, a Senior Lecturer in the Law School has been appointed to the Care Quality Commission (CQC)’s Mental Health Act Advisory Group. The CQC is the health and adult social care regulator in England. The Mental Health Act Advisory group was first established in 2012 to work with the CQC on delivering the Mental Health Act Annual Report. Since that time the CQC has announced its new monitoring strategy and plans to align and integrate the Mental Health Act with the Health and Social Care Act powers.
Members of the Advisory Group have been appointed to provide expertise, experience and advice to inform the CQC's approach and scope, as well as commenting and advising the CQC on the plans for delivering their statutory duties in the Mental Health Act.
