Jackie West interviewed on BBC radios Women Hour

Dr Jackie West of the University of Bristol's Department of Sociology, Politics and International Studies was interviewed on BBC radios Woman's Hour (ie 31/3/14). She was part of a discussion over the past three weeks about prostitution law reform, prompted by a cross-party parliamentary report recommending UK adoption of the so-called Nordic model: the criminalisation of the purchase of sex. She argued that this extends an abolitionist approach is gaining favour among politicians throughout Europe (and is in line with UK government policy over the past three decades or so). Woman's Hour has broadcast a very wide variety of discussions - with sex workers, with clients, with campaigners 'for' and 'against' the proposed criminalisation of clients.
