Helen Galbraith has worked at the University since 2000, holding roles in Research and Enterprise Development and the Registrar's Private Office before joining the Planning Office in 2006. As head of the Division of Strategic Planning and Projects, Helen's role encompasses oversight of strategic planning and business intelligence; governance and compliance; strategic projects and process improvement; and the provision of policy advice and executive support to the Vice-Chancellor and senior team.
Rachel joined the Planning Office in 2007, and became a Senior Planning and Projects Officer in 2008. She currently has responsibility for the annual planning process for Divisional Reviews, Annual Academic Reviews, risk management, responding to HEFCE consultations and external surveys, and Crisis Management and Business Continuity Planning. Rachel is the Departmental Safety Advisor.
Jenny has been in post as a Planning and Projects Officer since August 2007 and became a Senior Planning Officer in July 2012. Jenny’s main responsibilities leading on strategic business intelligence projects (for example providing data to senior level meetings ), liaising with 'data experts' around the university and coordinating the Annual Academic Review process.
Vicky joined the Planning Office in September 2012. Her main areas of responsibility are around the development of business intelligence and ad hoc data analysis projects (ie. National Student Survey analysis, Strategic Performance Indicators). Vicky is one of the University's key contacts for the online heidi system which contains data from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and other data about institutions throughout the UK.
Helen joined the Planning Office in April 2013 in a newly established role. Helen is responsible for the line-management of the Executive Support team which comprises the PAs for the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellors, Registrar and Deputy Registrar. Helen coordinates the servicing of a portfolio of senior committees and services the Process Review and Improvement Advisory Group. As part of the planning team, she is involved in a variety of data analysis projects and is responsible, in particular, for university league table analysis.
Jo joined the Planning Office in January 2014 but has been working on management information and business intelligence at the University since 2008. The Business Intelligence programme aims to collect, integrate, analyse and present business information to support better strategic decision-making for the University and its faculties and schools.
Kelly joined the Governance Office in August 2007, initially as the Clerk to Council and Court. She took on the role of Head of Governance in August 2011, and is now responsible for the servicing of Council, Court and Senate. Kelly is responsible for updating the University's governance instruments; the Statutes, Ordinances and Regulations each year and for ensuring that changes are approved by the appropriate decision-making body. Kelly is also responsible for producing the purple "Guide to Council" each summer. Kelly is the first point of contact for any queries relating to University governance, including any Council, Senate or Court related matters.
Lucy joined the Governance Office as Governance Officer in October 2011 and is responsible for supporting the Governance Office, in particular with servicing meetings of the University Planning and Resources Committee (UPARC), the Audit Committee, the Nominations Committee of Court and the Student Affairs Committee. Lucy has also managed a review and re-design of the University’s governance web pages and is currently managing a drive towards the paperless office.
Helen joined the Governance Office in September 2007. She is the Secretary to the Governance Office and the main point of contact for the office. She helps with Council, Senate and Court and associated committees. Helen works Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Julie joined the Governance Office in May 2013 and carries out the same responsibilities as Helen. Julie works Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
