Young scientist wins Max Planck Society medal

Dr Martin Gradhand, Research Fellow
Martin Gradhand, a member of the
Condensed Matter Theory Group, has been awarded the
Otto Hahn medal of the Max Planck Society for outstanding scientific achievement in an early stage of his scientific career. The prize recognises his significant contributions to the understanding, and the first principle description of the spin Hall effect during his PhD. The award includes a monetary award of €7500.
Prizes will be awarded at the annual meeting of the Max Planck Society on 13 June.
