Clifton Pavilion, Bristol Zoo Gardens

Looking for an engaging and challenging career in science?

Careers in quantum is a free two-day event bridging the gap between skilled students in STEM disciplines and the booming quantum technology industry. Not familiar with the term? Have a look at our about page which describes them in more detail.

With a combination of talks and panel discussion from industrial and academic experts and active networking you can find out what an engaging scientific career, both inside and outside academia, might look like for you. Casual networking sessions will give you an opportunity to connect to the industry leaders there and investigate career opportunities further.

Showcase

The first day focuses on how you could start a career in industry from a bachelor’s or master’s degree. We’ll hear talks from the industry experts about what their company does and the kind of skills they are looking for.

On the second day we’ll be continuing focussing on how a PhD could advance your career. Masters students can hear from leading academics in the field about their research and groups. There will be lots of possible PhD projects, so get involved!

Job fair

On Friday afternoon, PhD students have the opportunity to talk to a wide range of potential employers, in a ‘job fair’ style event.
