Professor Stephen Mann (Centre for Protolife Research and Centre for Organized Matter Chemistry, School of Chemistry, Bristol)

Frank Lecture Theatre H HWills Physics Laboratory, Tyndall Avenue, Bristol BS8 1TL

The design and construction of compartmentalized colloidal objects for modelling rudimentary protobiological organisations, exploring the origin of life, and advancing 2 future living technologies is attracting considerable interest in a wide range of research communities. In this talk, I review recent experiments undertaken in my laboratory that provide steps towards synthetic protocells exhibiting primitive life-like functions and collective behaviours. 23 October, Dr Jonas Rademacker (Physics, Bristol)

*These colloquia start at 17:00 on Mondays in the Frank lecture theatre.
