If you receive an offer from us, you will be invited to one of our School of Physics visit days which take place between December and March. During your visit you will have the opportunity to delve into student life here at the School of Physics, and learn more about what makes Bristol a great place to study. And to give you a further taste of student life in Bristol we’ve produced a special edition of the Newsletter Spring 2015 (PDF, 584kB).
Our visit days have now finished for 2014/15 applicants, and will restart in December 2015 for 2015/16 applicants.
Our visit days will give you an introduction to some of the things we think you'll love about Physics at Bristol - our friendly students, our brilliant teaching staff and our excellent facilities. Included in your afternoon's activities will be an opportunity to meet and talk to current students, attend a sample lecture, and ask as many questions as you like. Your guest will see something different (including a tour of Bristol sights and a chance to visit a hall of residence).
Please note that although it is sometimes possible to show individual prospective students around the school, such visits must be arranged in advance, giving as much notice as possible. Please email Abi Stickland for more information.
If you are an offer holder for September 2015 entry and would like to arrange an ad-hoc visit to the School of Physics, please email Abi Stickland.
If you have any questions about the School of Physics visit days, please email Abi Stickland.
If you have an offer for MSci or BSc Physics and Philosophy you will be invited to visit the School of Physics on a specific date, usually in February. Whilst your afternoon will start and finish at the same time as those on other dates, you will be participating in specially tailored activities.
If you have applied for our BSc Physics with a Preliminary Year of Study programme or you have taken an alternative route into higher education, you may be invited for an interview, which are held in March.
Before making an application prospective applicants are encouraged to attend one of the University's undergraduate open days, which are held in June and September. As part of the day, you will have the opportunity to visit the School of Physics, and meet some of our academic staff and current students.
If you are unable to attend one of the University-wide open days, tours for prospective students are also offered throughout the year, which are led by current students and organised centrally.
If you cannot make one of those dates you are welcome to take a self-guided walking tour.
