Biophysics and biomechanics with the atomic force microscope: from single DNA

The versatility of the atomic force microscope (AFM) allows it to be applied to biological samples on length scales ranging from individual molecules to whole cells: nanometres to microns. This seminar will review recent research highlights from the group using amplitude modulation (AM) AFM in both air and liquid environments to study structure and mechanics of biological systems.
