13 January 2014

Drs Rachel Casey and Emily Blackwell from the University's School of Veterinary Sciences will feature on tonight's [Monday 13 January] Channel 4 documentary 'Dogs: Their Secret Lives'.

Two academics from the University's School of Veterinary Sciences will feature on an update of the Channel 4 documentary Dogs: Their Secret Lives.

Dr Rachel Casey, European Specialist in Veterinary Behavioural Medicine and Senior Lecturer in Companion Animal Behaviour and Welfare, and Dr Emily Blackwell, Dogs Trust Lecturer in Canine Behaviour and Welfare, will inform viewers about separation problems in dogs.  There will also be an update about the dogs that were recruited as case studies and details about the online survey.

The Bristol academics recruited 40 dogs into a study and filmed them at home to find out what dogs really do when their owner isn't there.

Dogs: Their Secret Lives will be broadcast on Channel 4 tonight, Monday 13 January, at 8 pm.
