Staff and students celebrated the official opening of the South West Doctoral Training Centre (SWDTC) building on Tuesday 6 November.

Staff and students celebrated the official opening of the South West Doctoral Training Centre (SWDTC) building on Tuesday 6 November. The building, at 1 Priory Road, was opened by Phil Sooben, Director of Policy, Resources and Communication at the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).

The SWDTC is a collaboration between the Universities of Bristol, Exeter and Bath (who were all represented at the opening) which draws together the established research excellence of more than 770 academic and research staff at the three institutions. It is accredited by the ESRC and is allocated 41 ESRC studentships annually.

The Centre has been refurbished to provide seminar rooms for SWDTC teaching complete with video conferencing facilities, IT suites and common room space for SWDTC students.
