Support Process Review: an update

18 July 2011

An update from the Vice-Chancellor with regard to Support Process Review.

We have now reached an important phase in the University’s Support Process Review (SPR) programme. The formation of new support teams is progressing and we are close to the stage when we will have completed the appointment of staff to all of the new process structures. These structures are either already operational or will become so over the next couple of months.

This is a significant milestone and I do not need to mention the importance that SPR plays in supporting our future position. What I am keen to highlight is that this milestone could not have been reached without the dedication and flexibility of all colleagues – those involved in creating the new processes and structures and those that have had to adapt to new ways of working. I do not underestimate the extra work and uncertainty that this has meant for many people.

A detailed communication regarding key aspects of SPR is available via the link at the end of this message. I am keen that communication on these matters continues as we work together to embed new systems and processes.

I would like to express my thanks again for the progress achieved through SPR to date and to encourage colleagues’ continued commitment to these vital changes.

Professor Eric Thomas, Vice-Chancellor
