The event will provide prospective students with the chance to meet staff and view the University’s facilities to see what opportunities are available. Bristol has an enviable international reputation and remains one of the UK’s most popular universities in terms of applications.

All the University’s undergraduate departments are taking part and will be hosting a series of activities and information events. This includes over 60 different lectures on a diverse range of subjects such as ‘Neuroscience: hearts may pump and muscles may switch, but brains rock’, ‘Freakonometrics’, ‘Physics of ice-cream’ and ‘Discovering the colour of dinosaurs’.

Visitors will also have the chance to view University accommodation and find out more about the student support services on offer at a student support services exhibition in the Victoria Rooms. They will also be able to speak to the University’s Students’ Union reps to find out about clubs and societies they could join.

Over 200 student stewards, wearing red T-shirts, will be on hand to help visitors find their way around the University precinct. There will also be general information talks, held in the Wills Memorial Building, relating to many aspects of higher education with specific sessions for parents, teachers and careers advisers and mature students.

Lorraine Norman, the University’s Undergraduate Events Officer, said: “The event is a great opportunity for prospective students to find out everything about studying and living at the University of Bristol. It’s a pleasure to have so many people visiting us and we hope students find the day informative and enjoyable.”
