Bristol University is awarding honorary degrees to Michael Malim, Professor of Infectious Diseases at King’s College London and Mr Dennis Stinchcombe, Leader, Broad Plain Youth Club, Bristol, at today’s [13 July] degree ceremonies in the Wills Memorial Building.

Bristol University is awarding honorary degrees to Michael Malim, Professor of Infectious Diseases at King’s College London and Mr Dennis Stinchcombe, Leader, Broad Plain Youth Club, Bristol, at today’s [13 July] degree ceremonies in the Wills Memorial Building.

Michael Malim, FRS, Professor of Infectious Diseases at King’s College London, and a Bristol graduate, will be honoured with the degree of Doctor of Science at the 11.15 am ceremony. The orator for the ceremony is Professor Peter Mathieson, Dean of Medicine and Dentistry at the University.

Dennis Stinchcombe, MBE, Leader, Broad Plain Youth Club, Bristol, will be honoured with the degree of Master of Arts at the 2.30 pm ceremony. The orator for the ceremony is Alderman Royston Griffey.

An honorary degree is a major accolade, awarded in recognition of outstanding achievement and distinction in a field or activity consonant with the University’s mission.
