The exhibition includes life-sized bronze orca whale fins by Richard Southall, Picasso's illustrations for Buffon's Histoire Naturelle, and limited edition prints on nature-related subjects by Henri Matisse, Joan Miro, Elizabeth Frink, John Nash, Eric Gill and Julian Trevelyan.

Contemporary sculpture, painting and photography by Patrick Haines, Hester Berry, Belinda Durrant, Lynden Swift, Susan Bonefaas and Jason Lane also feature in the exhibition.

All works are for sale and 10 per cent of the proceeds will be donated to the BNHC’s Festival of Nature.  The exhibition runs from Saturday 29 May to Sunday 13 June 2010

The exhibition’s opening reception takes place on Saturday 29 May at 12.30pm, straight after the fourth in a series of art history classes.  Between 10am and 12pm, Rachel Flynn of the University of Bristol will lead a seminar exploring Landscape and Interwar Britain.  Rachel is an AHRC funded collaborative doctoral award postgraduate research student in the History of Art Department.  She is currently conducting new research into the Graham Sutherland Archive at the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff for her thesis The Artist as Archivist: The Graham Sutherland Collection.  A few places are left on this course, which costs £10 per person with refreshments included.  If you are interested in attending, please contact the gallery.
