Bristol University is awarding an honorary degree to Ms Alison Smale, Executive Editor, International Herald Tribune, at today’s [17 July] degree ceremony in the Wills Memorial Building.

Bristol University is awarding an honorary degree to Ms Alison Smale, Executive Editor, International Herald Tribune, at today’s [17 July] degree ceremony in the Wills Memorial Building.

Ms Alison Smale, Executive Editor, International Herald Tribune and a Bristol graduate, will be honoured with the degree of Doctor of Laws at the 11.15 am ceremony. The orator for the ceremony is Dr Mark Allinson, Senior Lecturer in the University’s School of Modern Languages.

An honorary degree is a major accolade, awarded in recognition of outstanding achievement and distinction in a field or activity consonant with the University’s mission.
