Professor Welch will discuss Kurt Gödel’s Incompleteness Theorems, ‘what they say about mathematics, the historical context in which Gödel developed them and the implication of the theorems for our understanding of mathematics and physics’. Other guests are Professors Marcus Du Sautoy from the University of Oxford and John Barrow from the University of Cambridge.
