Both the University’s women’s and men’s waterpolo teams were winners in their sport at the inaugural British Universities Championships in Sheffield earlier this month. The men’s team won the Men’s Championship Finals, and the women were victorious in the Women’s Trophy Final.

Joel Thomas of the men’s team also won the award for BUSA Player of the Finals. The women’s team was captained by Andrea Holmes, and the men’s team by Oliver Grauers.

The University was represented in athletics, swimming, men’s badminton, women’s basketball, men’s and women’s volleyball, women’s fencing and climbing. The event, run by the British Universities Sports Association, was the first of its kind. Full details of the results can be found on the BUSA website.

The Athletic Union has a busy start to the summer term, with the Varsity Boat Race on the Bristol Harbourside on 26 April, Alumni Sports on the same day, and the Rugby Varsity match at the Memorial Stadium on 30 April.

All are welcome at these events. Further information can be found on the Athletic Union website.
