Engineering alumnus picks up Oscar

A Mechanical Engineering graduate scooped an Academy Award last month for his company’s digital effects work.

A Mechanical Engineering graduate collected an Academy Award last month for his company’s effects work on the Philip Pullman adaptation The Golden Compass.

Ben Morris (BEng 1993) picked up the Oscar for Best Visual Effects on behalf of  Framestore CFC, the digital effects company for whom he works as VFX Supervisor. Several weeks earlier he also picked up a BAFTA for Framestore’s work on the film.
