The event will be held in the Students’ Union, Queens Road, Clifton and is sponsored by Deloitte, SUBtv, the University of Bristol Alumni Foundation and Cobra Beer.

In addition to showing all the films entered for the festival, there will be a question and answer session with renowned filmmaker Ken Loach, whose work includes Kes and Sweet Sixteen, and a seminar on film commissioning given by senior executives from Sky.  The UK Film Council will also be giving exclusive one-on-one sessions on individuals’ filmmaking future.

Also at the weekend are BAFTA, the best films from Bath’s famous Great Onion Film Challenge, seminars by George Kriptopolus, critic for Total Film, Peter Owens, Oscar nominated for his make-up work on Lord of the Rings, Chris Cook, director of The Penalty King, premiering at the weekend, and a new British black comedy The Battersea Ripper.  Workshops will run every 90 minutes from 10:00am until 5:30pm on Saturday 18 March.  A full timetable can be downloaded from www.screentestfest.co.uk.

Winners of the festival will be screened in the students’ union bars of 90 different Universities over SUBtv, and all films will available online from www.ukstudentfilms.co.uk and from online webzine First Post. The winners will also be showcased at the Raindance London Film Festival and on Sky's new talent channel, Propeller.

The weekend is a must for anyone who loves films and wants to be the first to catch what the next generation of filmmakers have to offer . A 'TestCard' for four workshops and unlimited screenings can be  purchased for £20, while a £5 ‘ScreenCard'  gives holders unlimited screenings all through the weekend.  Tickets for individual screenings and workshops can be purchased from the Box Office.
