An exciting new Summer Sports Coaching Camp has been successfully launched by Bristol University. The camp offers an impressive range of indoor and outdoor coaching courses in fifteen different sports for children over the school summer holidays.

Children can choose from a selection of whole or half-day progressive coaching courses, including athletics, badminton, cricket, dance, fencing, football, games and skills, hockey, netball, swimming, tag rugby, tennis, trampolining and volleyball.  Each child will receive a participation certificate for every sport they learn with the option of working towards National Governing Sports Certificates in selected sports.  The camp will provide children with an opportunity to develop new skills and make friends in a safe and secure environment.

The camp's fully qualified and experienced coaches will focus on teaching children the skills and techniques of the game, whilst keeping the activities informative, rewarding and fun.  Many of the University's coaches currently teach high performance students some of whom are top in their fields, competing at regional and national levels.  PE teachers from local Specialist Sports College, Portway Community School will also be coaching some of the sports.

Sarah Troke, Course Director at the University of Bristol, said:  "Up until now the University's impressive sports facilities have been quiet over the summer vacation due to students going home. This camp will ensure not only that the quality of the facilities are experienced by new people, but will also offer local people, a much needed service that's safe, fun and educational for their children."

The camp takes place for four weeks over the school summer holidays from Monday 25 July until Friday 19 August from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm daily, only fifty places per week are available.  Prices are £100 for a whole day week and £50 for a half-day week.
