Bristol Alumnus honoured with Elgar Medal

Congratualtions to the conductor Alexander Walker, who was a Music student at Bristol from 1991 to 1994. He has been awarded the prestigious Elgar Medal in recognition of his advocacy of British music, and Elgar in particular, over many years, performing his music both in the UK and in eastern European countries, including Belarus, Russia, Poland and Turkey. Previous recipients of the Elgar Medal include: Vladimir Ashkenazy, Daniel Barenboim, Sir Colin Davis, Sir Andrew Davis, Sir Mark Elder, Sakari Oramo and Anthony Payne.
