We are delighted to announce that David Fay has been awarded a full AHRC scholarship for doctoral research at the University of Bristol, starting in October 2012. His thesis will concentrate on the musical expression of religious meaning in Passion music. Arthur Keegan-Bole’s opera The Interrogation of Adam Pollo was recently performed at the Tête a tête opera festival in London. We are proud and happy to welcome him to the department as a research student in October 2012: his doctoral research is being funded by two private benefactors.
Music students have also enjoyed considerable success in securing University of Bristol MA funding for 2012-13. David Ridley (composition), Aaron May (composition) and Francis Myerscough (Russian music) have all been awarded Faculty of Arts MA scholarships. Departmental bursaries have been awarded to Michael Bevan (performance), Manos Charalabopoulos (composition) and Liam Taylor West (composition).
