The Department of Music is delighted to be able to offer three bursaries for MA study on any Music pathway (including MA in Composition for Film and TV) at Bristol University during the academic year 2012-13. These awards are valued at 30% of the full programme Home/EU tuition fee. Two of the bursaries are open to all taught MA in Music applicants (including Bristol Arts graduates); the other is specifically reserved for a Bristol Arts graduate.
The bursaries have been made available thanks to the generosity of a donor from the University’s alumni community.
In the case of the bursary reserved for Bristol Arts graduates, any student (home or overseas) graduating from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Bristol between June 2010 and June 2012 is eligible to apply.
Overseas (non-EU) students are welcome to apply for a bursary, but should note that, if successful, the sum awarded will be equivalent only to 30% of the Home/EU tuition fee, not the full overseas fee.
Bristol Arts graduates should note that they are automatically entitled to a Faculty Alumni scholarship, valued at 10% of the full programme Home/EU tuition fee. The value of the Music Bursary, where awarded, will be calculated after the 10% fee waiver has been applied.
The bursaries are available either for full-time or part-time study. In the case of full-time study, half of the bursary will be awarded at the beginning of each Semester. Where it is awarded for part-time study, half of the bursary will be awarded at the beginning of the first part-time year and the other half at the beginning of the second.
To be eligible for the bursaries, you must already have applied for, and been accepted onto, a Bristol University MA Music programme for 2012-13. Deadline 30 April 2012.
The successful candidates will be notified within four weeks of the closing date. If you have not received notification after this time, you should assume the application to have been unsuccessful.
Applicants who have already accepted an offer for this year will automatically be considered for a bursary, so need not reapply.
