Lifelong Learning in the Department of Music

With regret, the Faculty of Arts withdrew some lifelong learning provision at the end of the last academic year, i.e. from summer 2009. This follows a review of provision in light of the Government's withdrawal of funding for students who are studying or wish to study for an equivalent or lower qualification (ELQ) than one that they already hold. Music is one of the departments which will cease to offer courses from October 2009. Others are Drama, History of Art, Historical Studies, Theology and Philosophy.

You can read a statement about this decision from the Dean of Arts, Professor Robert Fowler.

Students may wish to be aware that some lifelong learning courses will continue in Archaeology, Earth Sciences, English and Languages.

Students may also wish to be aware that music courses are now being offered by All 4 Music.  Please note that the University has no involvement in these courses.
