The Study and Resource Centre (SARC) houses reference books and scores that complement the music holdings in the main Arts and Social Sciences Library. Also in the SARC is the department's collection of CDs, videos and other recorded materials, available for student use in the well-equipped listening and viewing room.

This space also has wireless networking so that personal computing devices can be used for study. A long desk in the quiet space has power sockets for this purpose.
