Olivier Messiaen (1908-92) was one of the most influential and popular of twentieth century composers. Throughout his career he combined pioneering artistic experimentation with vivid musical imagery, all placed at the service of profoundly held religious beliefs. This dayschool introduces his most important musical and philosophical ideas and gives an overview of more than 50 years' creativity.
