PLEASE NOTE:

We make every effort to ensure consistency across computers in the Medical Sciences lecture theatres and with other university lecture theatre computers.

However, there are occasionally unanticipated problems with the loading and running of presentations on the lecture theatre computers. As a result we are offering the following advice:

1. Bring at least TWO copies of any presentation material to the lecture theatre, preferably on DIFFERENT media (memory stick, floppy, CD or DVD, laptop)
2. If your presentation contains any form of 'multimedia' content (especially if it is accessed through the internet) please test it in the lecture theatre well in advance of the lecture time.

Some examples of the problems we have had are as follows:

• Memory sticks/keys that don't work on one particular computer (for no apparent reason)
• Video clips and multimedia web pages that need extra software installation to run them successfully
• DVD's that are incompatible with the DVD players in the computers
• Corrupted presentation files

Daniel Studd(AVA technician) will test presentations and multimedia videos out for people if they provide him with a copy in advance.

If you wish Daniel to attend, especially for the first time of use of theatres/equipment or if you have any questions about the equipment then ring Xtn 11878 or e-mail daniel.studd@bristol.ac.uk.
