Thesis collection

The thesis collection in the Medical Library includes: PhD, MD, MSc, ChM and DSc theses of staff and postgraduate students of the Medical Faculty, from 1910 to date.

How do I find a thesis?

Use the catalogue to find details of a particular thesis, including its number:

  • the online library catalogue has details of those from 1978 to date
  • a card catalogue in the Medical Library contains details of the earlier theses

How do I borrow a thesis?

Theses are kept in a restricted area and may be requested on a form, available at the Issue Desk.

Alternatively, you can email your request details to lib-med@bris.ac.uk.  Please include the Thesis number in your request.

 

Once you have submitted the details, it can take 2 working days for a thesis to arrive.  You will be notified when it is a available.

Theses are for use in the Medical Library only and you will be asked to sign a register.
