Film collection

There is a collection of pre-recorded feature films and television productions in videotape and/or DVD format situated on the second floor of the Arts and Social Sciences Library.

Use the 'Visual materials' search option on the catalogue to find details of a particular film or programme.

The collection is accompanied by some viewing equipment:

  • 4 combined TV/ video players
  • 4 DVD players
  • Headphones

Note: in the interests of others working in the area, please always use headphones when using this viewing equipment.

The library viewing equipment is set up to play all UK and US format videotapes (PAL/ NTSC) and DVDs (Regions 1 and 2) - in the case of NTSC format videotapes and region 1 DVDs in the collection please ensure that your own viewing equipment is compatible before borrowing such items.

A separate collection of videotapes, primarily serving the requirements of Deaf Studies courses, is situated on the first floor.
