Julian Hill

Julian is the Subject Librarian for Chemistry and a Web Developer for the University Library.

Subject Librarian responsibilities include:

Liaising with academic colleagues in the School of Chemistry.

Support for academic staff and students in their research, learning and teaching activities, including dealing with subject enquiries.

Providing library induction to new staff and students, and library and information skills training to all levels of students, integrated with the Chemistry department's curriculum.

Managing Chemistry collections and electronic resources provision, technical/ non-technical support for chemistry databases, and promoting new and existing library services and resources.

Web development responsibilities:

Leader of the MetaLib/ Get it! (SFX)  User Liaison Team

Member of the Library Web Group

Convenor of the Catalogue Working Group (currently inactive)

Qualifications

  • BSc (Hons) Physics, University of Leicester
  • PGDipLib in Librarianship and Information Studies, Newcastle-upon-Tyne Polytechnic
