Information for postgraduates

Contacts and feedback

Your Subject Librarian will be glad to help you locate reading materials for your course, and be able to point you towards useful electronic information resources.  Book purchase suggestions recommendations may be made to your tutor, or the Sociology library representative.

Subject resources

  • The Collections page details useful Sociology collections in our branch libraries, as well as advice on using other university libraries and the British Library.

Inter-library loan vouchers

  • If you need an item which is not held anywhere in our library system in print or online, it may be possible for you to use the Inter-library loans Service to obtain it from another library.  Please note that here is a charge for this service, so taught postgraduates should always consult their personal tutor in the first instance before applying for an Inter-library loan.  If the tutor deems the request reasonable, it may be possible to issue the student with an Inter-library loan voucher (though these are generally reserved for use by academic staff and researchers).
