Training and skills for finding and using information

The Medical Subject team run a programme of training in finding and using information by arrangement with your department.

  • Researching a topic in Medicine - in six steps
  • Develop your expertise in finding, evaluating and using information effectively and ethically with our video tutorials.
  • A number of guides and video tutorials on searching databases are available. The Medical Librarian team are also able to give help and advice about individual databases and searching in general.
  • Internet Medic - a free online 'teach yourself' tutorial from The Virtual Training Suite on finding and using information on the Internet.

Inter-library loan vouchers

  • If you need an item which is not held anywhere in the library system here in print or online, you can use the Inter-library loans Service to obtain it from another library.  There is a charge for this service, though you may be able to obtain an Inter-library loan voucher to pay for this.  You will need to speak to your tutor first and then obtain the voucher from Sue Kriefman.
