Plagiarism

  • Plagiarism is defined by the University as 'the unacknowledged inclusion in a student’s work of material derived from the published or unpublished work of another' (University Examination Regulations).

  • The Law Department provides information and guidance on avoiding plagiarism and why it is important to do so,  in its 'General Student Information' Blackboard course.

  • The University Library also provide more general advice about plagiarism and how to avoid it.

  • Law students found guilty of plagiarism will be reported to the Law Society and may find it difficult to pursue a legal career as a result.
