Visitor access restrictions
Access through the Day Reader scheme and SCONUL will be suspended from Monday 15 April to Sunday 26 May 2024 in order to prioritise study spaces for our own students during the Summer revision and assessment period.
We will not be processing applications during this time. If you have any questions, please email lib-access@bristol.ac.uk.
Easter weekend opening hours
The Arts and Social Sciences Library is open 24/7 as normal over the Easter weekend 29 March - 2 April (including Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday and Closure Tuesday).

Loan periods and borrowing limits
All Arts and Social Sciences Library items are subject to the standard loan periods and borrowing limits with the following exceptions:
- These materials are confined to the library:
- new books on display
- reference books
- theses
- items from special collections
- recent issues of journals
- examination papers
- books marked with a red label

IT Counter
The IT Counter is centrally located on campus in the Arts and Social Sciences Library, it is on the far left-hand side of the building as you pass through the 'Ucard' barriers.
The counter is currently open weekdays 08:30 - 17:00 and aims to offer an efficient and friendly service and currently operates on a first come first served basis.
The counter is co-located with the Student Laptop and Mobile Clinic to offer a combined service for staff and students at a single location.
