Request item from the Research Reserve

Please note: this form is now to be used only to request items which don't appear on the main catalogue or for the use of external users of the library.

To request other items, please use the 'Reserve a copy or request from the Research Reserve' option next to your chosen item in Library Search.

University of Bristol Library members (information for non-members) may use this form to request an item from the Research Reserve. Items will normally be available within 3-5 working days and can be collected from the University library you specify below. An email will be sent to your University email address when the item is ready for collection. You can return the item to any of our staffed libraries.

Scanned article service

If you provide us with full details of the article you require (journal name, volume/ issue number, volume year, page range, article author) we may be able to offer you a scanned copy of the article, delivered electronically to your University email address - you will need to provide this address in your completed request. Staff will contact you if your request is suitable for scanning after checking the article's copyright and physical conditions.

Where do I find the location/ classmark and whether the item is available?

In the results page of Library Search, items which can be requested using this form will show the location as 'Available at Research Reserve'. The classmark (eg Store 176392 for books, or Serial Store 4076 for journals) will be displayed in brackets underneath the details of the item you are interested in. To check whether the item is available use the Locations/Availability link.
