Undergraduate courses and degrees

We have a large and vibrant undergraduate community. We are committed to excellence and innovation in teaching, and to ensuring that law students’ learning experiences are stimulating and challenging.

Our undergraduate courses

We offer five undergraduate programmes. All are qualifying law degrees and enable students to study a combination of compulsory and optional units from an extensive list of units.

LLB Law (UCAS Code M100)

The undergraduate LLB (Bachelor of Laws) degree takes three years. The curriculum incorporates the ‘core’ compulsory subjects required by the legal profession and aims to develop the ‘benchmark’ graduate skills identified by the Quality Assurance Agency.

LLB Law with Study in Continental Europe (UCAS course code M100)

A four year single honours degree in law, with the third year spent studying law in one of our partner universities in Europe. Students admitted to study LLB Law may apply to transfer to this degree at the end of their first year of study. Places are awarded on merit, on the basis of performance in first year examinations.

LLB Law with Study Abroad (UCAS course code M100)

A four year single honours degree in law, with the third year spent studying law in Singapore, Hong Kong or Japan. Students admitted to study LLB Law may apply to transfer to this degree at the end of their first year of study. Places are awarded on merit, on the basis of performance in first year examinations.

LLB Law and French (UCAS course code MR11)

A four year joint honours degree in Law and French. Students study both Law and French language and literature in Bristol, and spend their third year studying law at a French university.

A four year joint honours degree in Law and German. Students study both Law and German language and literature in Bristol, and spend their third year studying law at a German university.
