The Director of the Centre for IT & Law is Mr Andrew Charlesworth, Reader in IT & Law, and previously Director of the Information Law & Technology Unit at the University of Hull from 1993-2002. His key research interests are in data protection and privacy, intellectual property, internet law and e-commerce law. Andrew is also heavily involved in research and consultancy work relating to the legal issues surrounding the use of educational technologies in Higher Education, such as Virtual Learning Environments, ePortfolios, eRepositories and Open Access publishing.
Dr Matt Fisher was the Assistant Director of the Centre for IT & Law until 2009. Matt studied Chemistry and Law at the University of Bristol from 1995 to 1999. Upon graduation he completed a PhD in Intellectual Property Law, which explored issues connected with the determination of patent scope. He taught law at the University of Bristol from 2000 -2009. Matt is currently a Senior Lecturer at UCL and a member of UCL's Institute of Brand and Innovation Law
