Bright Network explained that the winner of the award demonstrated real dedication to a project. In the face of adversity, they worked hard to ensure the success of their event, project or coursework and delivered an outstanding piece of work.
More specifically, George received his award for his hard work in the charitable sector and in particular during his time working at the Citizens Advice Bureau, where he trained and acted as a Gateway Assessor.
George’s role at the Citizens’ Advice Bureau saw him interviewing clients who contacted him by phone, web-chat and email to help explore their personal situation in order to identify the remedies and options available.
He also provided clients with assisted information from Citizen’s Advice sources on a range of topics including employment, housing, benefits, family law, tax, education and consumer law.
The clients that he assisted were experiencing very difficult personal circumstances, demonstrated by a case in which he assisted a client who believed that they had been unfairly dismissed as a result of their race.
The Law School would like to congratulate George on this outstanding achievement.
