Outreach

In addition to our office in central Bristol, students have the chance to work with our partners across the city, helping more people access legal help. We also accept referrals from local charities and organisations.

Next Link (in partnership with Lyons Davidson)

Students support solicitors from Lyons Davidson in providing advice to clients. The clients are women who have approached the charity Next Link for advice and support regarding family law, often issues arising from domestic abuse. Where we have the relevant expertise, the Law Clinic will take on cases that Lyons Davidson is unable to assist with.

Wellspring Settlement

Wellspring Settlement is a charity supporting residents in one of the most deprived areas in the country. Students attend on-site drop-ins once a fortnight to meet clients in their local area to advise on a range of issues. Many clients attending these drop-ins do not have English as a first language, and students quickly learn to develop their communication skills.

Every case I have worked with the Law Clinic has provided me with an insight into the variety of societal issues experienced by those for whom the cost of professional representation is prohibitive.

Wilfrid Spencer (LLB 2021)

The Wellspring Outreach project provided me with an invaluable opportunity to advise on an employment discrimination case, which I greatly enjoyed. This was the first time I really experienced the gratitude by a client for the efforts I had put in to help their case.
